400;\">When Jean-Marie Vianney was appointed Cur\u00e9 d&#8217;Ars, he was told: &#8220;You&#8217;re going to a parish where there isn&#8217;t much love of God, but you&#8217;ll put it there&#8221;. And he devoted his whole life to it&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Several years after his death, in 1900, the vicar-general of Marseille, Abb\u00e9 Castellan, wrote: &#8220;Every evening at the end of the day, the bell announces the prayer and representatives of all the families come to rest from their hard work. The church, enlarged and adorned, is barely sufficient to cope with the now considerable attendance. The rosary is recited in common. Each Sunday sees more fervent souls approaching the Eucharist. Honesty, harmony and good morals reign among the happy inhabitants of this parish. The land of Ars is a land of blessings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our &#8220;Land of Blessing&#8221; today consists of<\/span><b> three parishes forming a group.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> And three bell towers: the Basilica of Saint Sixtus in Ars, the work of architect Pierre Bossan, which houses the shrine of the Holy
